This service allows enterprises and governments to utilize their own data center space and power to host a fully managed, dedicated AWS AI stack, complete with the latest Trainium and NVIDIA GPUs, petabit-scale networking, and services like Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker.
On a global scale, AWS is investing heavily in connectivity. The Sovereign Cloud is operated exclusively by EU residents, with no critical dependencies on non-EU infrastructure, and will initially feature more than 90 services across categories including AI, compute, databases, and storage .

AWS has announced plans for additional regions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, Taiwan, and the AWS European Sovereign Cloud expansion, representing 16 additional Availability Zones across five more regions .
