Three Great Infographic Tools
Seriously, though, there are some really great tools out there that will help you create some pretty cool infographics – you'll still have to put some time into the process, but the tools are easy enough to use.
Here are my Three Great Infographic Tools:
Piktochart : Piktochart comes with a bit of a learning curve, but that's really the case for all of these tools. As I said, you'll have to sit down for a few minutes to figure them all out. That said, Piktochart tries to make things simpler with drag and drop options.
This service was developed for people that have absolutely no design experience at all, and just want a WYSIWYG platform (what you see is what you get). Drag, drop, and see what you can create. The drawback: Piktochart isn't free. You have to pay $29 per month for this service.
Visual .ly : this is a popular one, but, again, I find that it comes with a learning curve. I've also found that you do need to have some design experience when using Visual.ly, but that might be part of this service's appeal – if you can't design an infographic on your own, the service will match you with a designer.
Infogr .am : this is one of the simplest infographic tools out there. This tool lets you create more than thirty different types of charts, and the appeal of Infogr .am is that you can import data from Excel, and publish data in PDF form or embedded on a website. It took me a bit of time to figure this one out, but it turned out to be a simple enough service. Check out my infographic designed on Infogr .am above!
