    Impossible to ignore are the warnings from the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium on a critical security issue in Plesk V4. 0 & below in regards to Plesk hosting. This privilege escalation bug vulnerability has been exploited in the wild.
    Besides, even with the latest versions of Plesk (12. 5. 30, 17. 8. 11, 18.0. 19 and any prior version), if Plesk/Qmail passwords are leaked attackers can escalate their privileges to admin level. The vulnerability is a privilege escalation and is being actively exploited in the wild. Meanwhile, a cyber attacker who has cracked down on Plesk/Qmail passwords can use this exploit to escalate their privileges to the admin-level and potentially compromise the entire server, too.
    This insecurity issue has been found in Plesk host platform which used improper system process recordings for the risk manifestation. To fix this cyber threat, users have to apply the recent Plesk package upgrades issued by the supplier today. If you do not update the software, you will be putting your data at risk, so check your version and get the necessary security patches ASAP.
