Critical cPanel Flaw Leaves Millions of Websites and Business Inboxes Vulnerable
A critical vulnerability was reported in the popular cPanel this week, which could allow hackers to completely bypass security measures and take over independent hosting accounts. Attackers could exploit the complex logic flaw in the server management software to forge credentials and gain access to the main domains, databases and email hosting of businesses and individuals. Security specialists advise website admins worldwide to apply the newest emergency patches right away. A vulnerable server that has not been updated immediately poses a significant risk of corporate communication data and critical web assets being compromised.

cPanel & WHM version 138 is now available, with major improvements to make hosting easier and introduce AI-powered features. The release includes the new goal-based interface Meridian for Websites, Email, Files, Databases, Security and Performance, AI Assistant, Sitejet AI, AI App Hosting and MCP support for controlled AI-agent access to cPanel servers.
The release also adds the ability to rename domains right from the cPanel interface, a new WebPros Dashboard plugin for centrally managing multiple servers, improved Exim spam-action controls, new API functions and a new SSL reissue script. Meridian is optional, and administrators and users can continue to use the traditional cPanel interface. Overall, cPanel v138 focuses on making hosting administration easier while adding AI-driven automation and improved server management capabilities.
