WASHINGTON – Today, December 15, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina M. Raimondo will host a virtual roundtable with leaders of AirBnb, Block, eBay, Etsy, as well as female small business owners who use the platforms to generate income.
This event highlights the critical role broadband plays in providing economic opportunity to entrepreneurs and small business owners, no matter who they are or where they live. Platforms like Airbnb, eBay, Etsy, and Block (parent company of Square), powered by broadband, provide unique marketplaces for entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and start new business ventures and supplement existing income.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will allow for more participation in the digital economy to previously disconnected areas such as rural communities and Tribal lands by providing $65 billion to deliver reliable, high-speed internet to every American.
