Elbow have spoken of their pride in being asked to support REM.

Guy Garvey's Manchunian quintet will support the US rockers for three shows in Germany in August.

Guy told Gigwise: "It was a real honour to be asked to do the support slot for the guys [REM]."

He added: "We're not exactly a stadium band so it's nice to get the opportunity to have a go at it."
